HISTORY

Delaware Cadillac was originally founded in 1916 as Delaware Motor Sales Company, with its first showroom located in the center of town at Tenth and King Streets in Wilmington. A once-busy pedestrian and trolley district gave way to more and more vehicles, many brought to town by Delaware Motor Sales, and the showroom was moved to its current location on nearby Pennsylvania Avenue in 1939.

Until 1966, the local, family-owned dealership was the sole Cadillac distributorship for the entire Delmarva Peninsula and had served the four-state area that includes Delaware, the counties surrounding Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and the eastern shore of Maryland for a century. Today, Delaware Cadillac has won the Cadillac Master Dealer award, Cadillac Standards for Excellence, and is one of only a few Cadillac Certified Elite Servicing dealers in the entire northeastern United States.

The company has a longstanding reputation for supporting a variety of community organizations such as the Ministry of Caring, United Way, Better Business Bureau, Delaware State Chamber of Commerce and the Christiana Care Health System.

CADILLAC WORLD CLASS TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT

In 2023, Gary Gill, a Certified Master Technician and 30-plus year employee of Delaware Cadillac received recognition of his training achievement as a CADILLAC WORLD CLASS TECHNICIAN. According to Cadillac, only 300 technicians in the World have this training status. We are extremely proud of Gary, and the skill and knowledge he brings to our Mechanical Service Department each day.

ABOUT THE OWNER

Michael Uffner, President and CEO of Delaware Subaru and AutoTeam Delaware is a former chairman of the board of directors in the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce and is a creator of the Small Business Alliance. Uffner is a recipient of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce Marvin S. Gilman Award. Additionally, Uffner was honored at the 2011 annual National Automobile Dealers Association Convention with a nomination for the 42nd annual TIME Dealer of the Year Award.
